  1. There’s a reason I keep a 12-outlet power strip as a permanent part of my luggage. Between everybody in the family, we can easily use that many plugs to charge all our stuff (3 phones, 2 iPads, 2 iPods, 3 laptops, Kindle, camera) and even the best hotels don’t come close to providing that many.

At home, we’re pretty good. Most things have their own place for charging (office, bedroom), with a few spares in the kitchen and living room for emergencies.

    • We not only use power strips and multiple port chargers at home, but we also travel with them in our luggage. We buy strips with built in surge protection and thus not only have enough outlets, but don’t have to sweat the quality of the local power and wiring.

  2. Reminds me of a line by vintage British comedian Billy Russell from his “On Behalf of the Working Classes” annicdote about living in a municipal house with a large family; “…no room for furniture, couple of chairs in the house, 24 of us in the family. MY turn to sit down to eat, next Friday(!)…”

    • I’m glad my family only had to play that game on Thanksgiving, where we were trying to crown 50+ people into one living/dining area.
