Dethany’s body art has always been a topic of conversation within the strip, but due to the strip’s daily deadline demands I’ve never had the time to draw them in every panel. To rectify that, last November 1 I asked you, the readers, to send in your tattoo designs for a one-time-only depiction of her ink. Here are the results, and I’d like to thank everyone who contributed!
Dethany’s Raven is on sale here. For the first time, the complete year of 2012 is now available, encompassing the introductions of Guy, Fi and of course, Lenore. As a bonus there’s the three-page music video of “Exhume Yourself” in comic book form. To hear the Dethany belt out this driving Goth anthem go here.
The crossover between “Dick Tracy” and “On the Fastrack” has been one of my biggest highlights of the past year. I’ve known Mike Curtis since our paths crossed at various comic conventions beginning the late 1990s, and during our conversations he displayed an encyclopedic knowledge of comic strip history.
We’ve kept in touch over the years, and during that time Mike had been given the opportunity to write “Tracy” while the magnificent Joe Staton created the art. Their collaboration has been justifiably honored, winning multiple Harvey Awards.
